6 major Fashion Trends from London Fashion week 2016
We have put together the 6 most noteworthy fashion trends seen at London Fashion week 2016
-
Kick Flare Jeans seen everywhere at London Fashion week
Will the Kick Flares finally be the demise of the trusted Skinny Jeans? When one looks back at London Fashion week 2016, they seem to stand a good change of pushing into the wardrobes of the broader public.
Kick flares have been seen on the Catwalk, as well as in the front rows of a number of shows, like Ryan Lo, Erdem and Marque’s Almeida.
The Kick Flare is a skinny jeans from the knee up and with flaring from the knee down and cropped at the ankle. Raw hems also seem to be a feature.

Hats
Hats, hats, hats – hats, never are quite in or out of fashion. They certainly got lots of play in the London Fashion week 2016. From distressed, floppy leather hats, over summer hats, like the headgear you would wear if stranded on a lonely Caribbean island or some stranger designer like netted bags. Hats featured in many collections.
The good news is that any hat seems to be ok to wear. So bring out your old trusted headgear and enjoy it this season!
-
Prints
We have seen awesome dress designs, mixing different print designs and layering dresses. We have seen ancient Greek vase imagery, mixed with psychedelic prints, as well as floral designs and rural African imagery, novelty tees, images of saints and many other prints. It will be a fun season with lots of colour and imaginative print mixes and a vast range of dress shapes.
-
Gingham checks
Designers have taken to this classic picnic blanket check pattern with gusto and have included Gingham in imaginative ways into their designs this year.
-
Puffy sleeves and XL Sleeves
We have seen many designers looking at the 80s for inspiration in their sleeve designs. This season, sleeves are worn big and puffy, regardless if short or long.
We also saw long sleeves, that go past your fingertips in a number of shows.
-
Distressed Denim
Also very 80s was the distressed denim look we saw pushed into new directions this season. Ultra-distressed and frayed is cool and happening this coming season!
