Tips for winter skincare

As the days grow shorter and the temperatures start to drop, we want to ensure that you are ready to tackle any problems that the winter weather may throw at your face.

Our four-step plan will keep you glowing all the way through the colder months.

A gentle Winter cleanse:

Keep an eye on the ingredients in your facial cleansers and toners. Instead of a gel-based face wash, switch to a milder milk or cream based one. You could also opt for a foaming wash. Alcohol can also be very harsh on sensitive or dry skin so look out for gentle, alcohol-free toners.

If you want to emphasise that healthy glow, consider exfoliating your whole body before moisturising. This will clear away any dull, dry skin and will also increase your skins ability to absorb creams and lotions. Try a rough, cream scrub or a body brushing brush for longevity.

A Moisture rich glow:

If you have dryer skin, you may have to swop to a thicker moisturiser for the colder months. You could try switching to an oil based moisturiser in winter to lock in extra moisture. This will not only keep you looking and feeling fresh, but will form a protective barrier helping your skin in the long run. Creams containing avocado or almond oils are a great way to add moisture without clogging your pores.

Kissable Lips:

Try this daily tip for smooth, kissable lips. After cleansing, use a soft, wet sponge or cloth to gently buff the surface of your lips. Follow this with an application of lip balm. It’s quick, easy and inexpensive.

Are you applying sunscreen on a daily basis? UV Rays may be a little stronger in winter than we think. Make sure to reapply sunscreen throughout the day, especially to more exposed areas like your hands, your face and the back of the neck.

Do you have any more tips to share with us? We’d love to hear how you stay beautiful during winter.
