Fashion Kindness: Mime Voir Couture

On the 13th of April 2013, Cape Town will see itself flooded once again by the who’s who of the country, its elegant jet set, fabulous fashion and talented mimes. The reason: raising money for the implementation of a youth community centre in Greyton. The five-course dinner event promises to be six hours of nonstop wine extravaganza, designer couture runway shows mixed in with spectacular mime art.

Mime Voir Couture is a collaboration between Charlene Sauerman Couture, Leigh The Mime and the union of mime workers, presented at The Oaks Estate near Greyton and in aid of an A.R.K (Act of Random Kindness). This gala event is destined to give back to the community, and help the lives of hundreds of children.

In effect, building a youth community centre will help provide children with a diversity of afterschool activities, tutoring, socialising, etc. Everything and anything to keep our children off the streets is definitely welcome, especially when it is done with exquisite fashion and Haute Couture.

Unsurprisingly, the dress code for the event is formal. Gowns, tuxedos, sparkles, sequin dresses, stilettos and you name it, are to be expected on the night. One can be sure that the event will be filled with all sort of designer wear. So, if you decide to go, the last thing you want is to end up on the wrong side of a fashion police. Make the effort, not only to impress the gallery, but also to honour the people involved who are going the extra mile to make the event successful and therefore, help those in need.

2nd Take can definitely help you look your best for this kind of events. Whether you are looking for a statement piece, designer suit or dress, or even a killer pair of high heels, you will find what you need at our Sea Point store and online store. After all, what says glamour better than vintage clothing? In this regard, an international designer second hand store should be your shopping destination of choice.
