All4Women.co.za recently posted a “Do It Yourself Nautical Nails” piece, which we just have to share!
The seaside look never gets old. Blue and white, or white and red stripes is always a firm favourite in fashionable wardrobes. It’s a fun yet stylish trend, one that we don’t mind having all over us – especially on our nails.
Items you’ll need:
- Navy blue & red nail polish
- White sticker strips (you can get these from French Manicure sets or just make your own)
- A top coat
- Cuticle scissors
- Nail drying spray
Use the navy blue polish to paint the base of your nails. Make sure you apply two applications.
Use the nail drying spray on each nail one-by-one.
Apply two white sticker strips onto each nail – try to keep the spacing between each sticker the same on each nail.
Clean the excess strips using the scissors – cut as close to your nails as possible. Make sure the strips stick firmly down.
Use the toothpick to dip into the red nail polish and draw a red heart on one or all of your nails.
2nd Take Tip: You could even try your hand at drawing a small anchor!
Use the nail drying spray again before applying the final top coat – this will protect your job well done!
Use this look for a special occasion because the stripes will wash away after a few showers.
2nd Take Tip: To get a stripy look, paint an additional colour onto the navy blue and strips. Once dry, peel away one or all of the strips.
