Halloween at 2nd Take – Fashion News and second-hand clothes

This Past Week at 2nd Take – the second-hand approach

These weeks are building up to Halloween here at 2nd Take. We incorporated Halloween ideas into our fashion choices and created fashionable and fun designer second-hand looks for this fun Holiday.

You might ask, what is Halloween all about?

Halloween is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October. Halloween coincides with the Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day, which begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints hallows, martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers.
According to many scholars, All Hallows’ Eve is a Christianized feast influenced by Celtic harvest festivals, with possible pagan roots, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain. Other scholars maintain that it originated independently of Samhain and has solely Christian roots.

Either way, we at 2nd Take love the opportunity to choose amazing second-hand fashion to dress up and have some fun!

Let’s see who was inspired by this Halloween celebration on social Media

Environmental Awareness

What are the benefits of recycling shoes and clothing? Second-hand clothing means we are recycling our fashion choices, by either selling or buying second-hand!
Recycling your unwanted clothes and textiles, has three main benefits: funds charitable programs, reduces solid waste and provides economic stimulus and employment here and abroad.
Specific benefits include:
1. reducing solid waste in landfills
2. demonstrating sustainability and environmentalism, and reducing the carbon footprint
3. creating economic development around the world
4. converting waste products into value-added products
5. providing employment to semi-skilled or marginally employable
workers
Almost 100% of household textiles and clothing can be recycled, regardless of quality of condition. Recycling clothing and textiles benefits charities, reduces solid waste, and provides employment.
